Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Trip Pocket, the iPhone app that turns screenshots and shared posts into a usable list of places. By downloading or using the app, you're agreeing to what's below. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What Trip Pocket is

Trip Pocket is a personal organisation tool for travel ideas. It runs on iPhone, stores its data on your device, and uses AI to extract place information from images and captions. It is not a travel agency, a booking platform, or a restaurant or hotel recommender, and nothing in the app is professional travel advice.

Who can use it

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Trip Pocket (16 in the European Economic Area, or whatever the higher age of digital consent is where you live). If you're using the app on behalf of an organisation, you're confirming you have the authority to bind it to these terms.

Your account, your device

Trip Pocket has no accounts and no server-side sync. Your trips, screenshots, place cards and settings live in local storage on your iPhone. That means:

  • You don't sign up, log in, or hand us a password.
  • You are responsible for backing up your device if you want to keep your data safe across resets or lost phones.
  • Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone.

Subscription, free trial, and billing

Trip Pocket is offered as a single subscription with a free trial. The published prices are $4.49 per week or $39.99 per year, with local equivalents shown in your region's App Store. Both options unlock the same features.

Billing, taxes, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. If you start a free trial and don't cancel before it ends, the trial converts into a paid subscription automatically.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or via the App Store. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the current period.

Refunds are processed by Apple under their refund policy. We can't issue refunds directly, but we'll help you push the Apple request through if something's gone wrong on our end.

How you can use the app

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Trip Pocket on devices you own or control. Please don't:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or pull apart the app outside of what local law explicitly allows.
  • Use Trip Pocket to save, organise, or distribute content that's illegal where you are.
  • Hammer the extraction service with automated traffic, bulk imports designed to scrape third-party platforms, or anything that looks like abuse.
  • Resell access, share your subscription, or use the app to build a competing product.

AI-generated content and accuracy

Trip Pocket uses AI to read an image or caption and pull out a place name, city, and category. Every candidate is then checked against Google Maps, and the structured fields you see (address, rating, price, photo) come from third-party providers like Google Places and Apple Maps.

That pipeline is good, not perfect. AI can misread a label, mis-pin a city, or pick the wrong branch of a chain; opening hours and prices go stale; sometimes a place closes. Treat what the app shows as a useful starting point, not gospel. Verify anything important before you travel or pay for it, and don't rely on Trip Pocket for safety- or health-critical decisions.

Content you save

The screenshots, posts, and captions you bring into Trip Pocket belong to whoever made them. You're responsible for respecting the copyright, rights of publicity, and platform terms of whatever you save, including Instagram's terms, TikTok's terms, or whichever platform the post came from. Trip Pocket is a private notebook for your own use, not a place to redistribute other people's work.

Our intellectual property

The app, the Trip Pocket name, the logo, the marketing site, and the underlying code are ours. These terms don't transfer any of that to you. You're welcome to talk about Trip Pocket and link to it; please don't pass our brand off as your own or imply an affiliation that doesn't exist.

Third-party services

Trip Pocket relies on a small set of third-party services to do its job: the App Store for distribution and billing, model providers for AI extraction, Google Places and Apple Maps for enrichment, and Sentry for crash reporting. Their terms apply to your use of those parts of the product. We pick providers we trust, but we don't control them and can't promise their services will always be available.

Termination

You can stop using Trip Pocket at any time by uninstalling the app. We can suspend or remove access if you break these terms, attack the service, or use the app in a way that creates legal risk for us or anyone else. Where it's reasonable, we'll give you a heads-up first.

Disclaimers

Trip Pocket is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data it shows will be accurate or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Trip Pocket and the people who build it won't be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost trips. Where liability can't be excluded, it's capped at the amount you've paid us for Trip Pocket in the twelve months before the claim, or $50, whichever is higher. Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that can't be limited under your local law (for example, gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. We'll try to sort any problem out informally first, so email us before filing anything. If a dispute can't be resolved that way, the courts of Prague, Czech Republic have exclusive jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms now and then as the app evolves. When we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and surface a note in the app. Continuing to use Trip Pocket after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, please stop using the app and cancel any active subscription.
